چکیده

Phase transition of Fe–18Cr–8Ni, Fe–15Cr–15Ni and Fe–15Cr–25Ni alloys during mechanical alloying (MA) and after subsequent annealing as studied. For Fe–18Cr–8Ni and Fe–15Cr–15Ni the resulting structure by MA was a nanostructured single-phase BCC solid solution ( ) which iffers from that predicted from equilibrium phase diagram. Furthermore, the equilibrium structure was not achieved after heat treatment at 700 ◦C or 1 h even at low cooling rate. In contrast the structure of Fe–15Cr–25Ni powder as-milled and after subsequent annealing was a fully austenite tructure in consistent with the equilibrium phase diagram. These discrepancies can be explained by Cr and Ni alloying as well as nanocrystallization ffects. 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Characterization of the metastable Cu-Fe nanoparticles prepared by the mechanical alloying route

Although Cu and Fe are immiscible under equilibrium conditions, they can form supersaturated solid solutions by mechanical alloying. In this paper, nano-structured of the metastable Cu-Fe phase containing 10, 15, 20 and 25% wt Fe were synthesized by intensive ball milling for 15h, in order to achieve a solid solution of Fe in Cu. The phase composition, dissolution of the Fe atoms into the Cu ma...

Synthesis of Nanostructure Ti-45Al-5Cr Alloy by Mechanical Alloying and Study the Effect of Cr Addition on Microstructure of TiAl Alloy

In this work, mechanical alloying was employed to produce Ti-50Al and Ti-45Al-5Cr (at%) alloys. Alloying was performed in a planetary mill and the alloying time varying from 5 to 70h. Characterization of the powder mixture was performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), SEM analyses and DTA test, during mechanical alloying and after annealing at 1100°c in vacuum oven. The results showed, after 50h of...
